About the role

We fix what everyone else replaces

Surface Care is Sydney and Melbourne's leading surface repair specialist. We fix what most people think must be thrown out: scratched timber floors, chipped stone benchtops, damaged laminate and worn furniture. For years we have done this through a network of trusted specialists. Now we are building our own team, and we are hiring in Sydney.

You will be on the road each day, fixing surfaces in people's homes and shops. You take the damage and make it look new again. The work is precise, hands-on and satisfying, and no two days are the same.

The job

What you will do

Out on the road every day, repairing high-value surfaces so they look like the damage was never there.

  • Repair timber, laminate, stone, composite and furniture surfaces on site
  • Colour and grain match so repairs disappear into the surface
  • Work in customers' homes and businesses, representing the brand
  • Keep your vehicle, tools and workspace clean and organised

An honest word. The work is detailed and hands-on. Expect close-up focus, some kneeling and lifting, and work with fillers and finishes in the right safety gear. If you like being busy with your hands, you will love it.

Who we want

Who we are looking for

You do not need surface repair experience. What matters is a steady hand, an eye for detail and plenty of patience.

  • A precise, patient hands-on approach and pride in a great finish
  • A current Australian driver licence
  • Reliability and a customer-ready manner

Good backgrounds include french polishing, cabinet making and furniture restoration. Painting, panel and paint, and stonemasonry all work too. So does any precise trade or hobby. Recent trade graduates are welcome.

Your training

How we train you

You are paid from day one while you learn. The training is structured, hands-on, and covers our repair process and products.

You work next to experienced technicians from the start. Most new starters are doing supervised repairs within a few weeks. Soon after that, they run their own jobs.

You are never thrown in the deep end.

Where it can lead

Room to move up

This is the start of a career, not a job with a ceiling. As the in-house team grows, so does the path.

Do great work and there is genuine room to move up.

Questions

Good to know

Do I really need no experience?
Correct. If you are precise with your hands, we will train you from scratch, and you are paid while you learn. Experience in a related trade is a bonus. It is not a must.
What hours will I work?
Full-time, Monday to Friday. If you want to pick up Saturdays for extra pay you can, but they are never required.
Is a company van provided?
There is the option of a company van for this role. We will walk you through exactly how it works, and confirm the arrangement with you, before you start.
Where will I be based?
Sydney. You will travel to jobs across Greater Sydney, working in customers' homes and businesses rather than from a workshop.
What will I need before I start?
A current Australian driver licence, the right to work full-time in Australia, and a willingness to complete a national police check, since you will be working in customers' homes.
Ready to build something with your hands?

It takes two minutes to apply. We reply to every applicant.
